108 Slow Deep Breath Meditation

After I uploaded the above video to Youtube, and as I practiced taking the 108 slow deep breaths, I found myself in a deeply relaxed space. It was incredible. It was in the middle of this meditation when it dawned on me that I needed to challenge myself to practice every day for 108 days.

The Challenge: 108 slow deep breaths a day for 108 days

Today, Wednesday April 30, 2025 is day one. This challenge will run through Saturday August 16, 2025.

I challenge myself to dedicate 22 minutes of uninterrupted time every day during this time period to practice the above meditation.

I am curious as to how this will impact and improve my life in the areas of my health, relationships, sleep, anxiety levels, and spiritual growth.

If you want to join me, feel free. Decide from day one that you will practice this meditation every day for 108 days. That comes to 11,664 deep slow belly breaths in 108 days. How will your life improve? What insights await you? What benefits will you enjoy?

Here are some suggestions for getting the most out of each days 22 minute meditation

--NOSE IN-NOSE OUT, or NOSE IN-MOUTH OUT breathing is best for this type of breathwork. Breathing in through our nose filters and conditions the air, and improves almost every aspect of our lives. Exhaling through your mouth can help alkalize your mind and body, and can open the heart. Exhaling through your nose does the same thing, but is even more powerful at opening the pineal gland.

--Make sure you give yourself the 22 minutes of uninterrupted time. Lock out the world. Tell your spouse, partners, or kids to leave you alone for that time. Put your phone on DO NOT DISTURB mode.

--Drink plenty of water throughout. Deep breathing has a tendency to dehydrate the body. We expel more water through our exhales than through urination or perspiration combined. So be mindful. Drink twice the usual amount of water.

--Really do your best to expand your belly first, then your chest with every inhale

--Also do your best to completely deflate your breathe with every exhale

--Stay in tune with the moving oval. This way, we are breathing in the same rhythm and harmonizing with each other across time and space, benefiting from each other's spiritual awakening and growth.

--Let your eyes droop to half closed while staying focused on your breath and the moving oval. Then become aware of your energy. Burn your consciousness into your third eye and become aware of yourself more as spiritual light than flesh and bone.

On day one, here are my current states:

health - I need to lose weight and get my cholesterol in order. I shoulder pain that seems to be chronic. I would like to get in really good physical shape again.

relationships - I have family and friends, but I am wanting to open up to new possibilities in the area of attracting spiritual and intimate partners

sleep - This one I struggle with. I am hoping the daily breath work will help me get better sleep. My pattern is to not sleep good for several days, then down some benedryl and get a much needed full night of sleep. I have a habit of waking myself up at 3 am to go over the list of problems facing me and the world.

anxiety - This one is related to sleep. Right now I give myself a score of about 5, with 10 being extreme anxiety and 0 being total peace.

spirituality - I am happy with this one, but I really want to take off. I am looking forward to many spiritual insights that will come from taking 108 deep slow breaths in 108 days.

So this blog post will be a diary of this journey. Every day, I pledge and commit to watching and practicing the above meditation within dedicated cocoons of uninterrupted time.

I will post at least once every Wednesday, but more frequently if I feel inspired.

Wednesday April 30, 2025

I was really inspired, amazed, and blown away as to how deep I was able to go. I had challenges in getting my belly to fill. I caught myself only chest breathing several times, and immediately went back down to filling my belly and diaphragm, then my chest, with every inhale. I am really excited about this upcoming journey. I am making this commitment with a strong feeling of faith welling up from within me.

Right now, my third eye is buzzing and I feel strong and confident.

See you soon....
